George Heidweiller Collector Preview Friday June 19th, 6-9PM

RIVERA & RIVERA requests the pleasure of your company for the inaugural Los Angeles exhibition for renowned Dutch artist George Heidweiller on Friday, June 18th from 6-9PM.

In his first appearance at RIVERA & RIVERA, George Heidweiller will show 19 new multimedia landscape paintings. Combining silkscreen with paint, and utilizing collage techniques not unlike Robert Rauschenberg, Heidweiller creates his own imagined cityscapes. Comprised of eastern and western imagery, along with urban street culture and a mood specific palette, his works reflect his international travels.

Heidweiller views urbanization through a grim lense and pictures the darker side of city development when creating his work. The somber and vibrant colors effectively evoke an array of different emotions and feelings to transport the viewer into an alternative emotive reality.

Born in Amsterdamn, Heidweiller was trained at the Royal Academy of Arts in The Hague. He has previously collaborated with ad agency Saatchi & Saatchi and artists Herman Brood and Freek Henkes. He has recently shown at the Holland Art Gallery, Los Angeles Art Fair, and Chicago Art Fair.
